About Cindy Nichols Anderson

Dr. Cindy Nichols Anderson, Ph.D., ABPP, is a licensed clinical psychologist, board-certified specialist in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, and Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher. She is the owner of Hope Springs Behavioral Consultants in Coralville, Iowa, and is licensed to practice psychology in both Iowa and Oregon.

With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Anderson provides neuropsychological evaluations for children ages eight and older, adolescents, and adults. She helps individuals and families understand learning, attention, developmental, emotional, and behavioral concerns through comprehensive, individualized assessment. Her thoughtful, compassionate approach helps people recognize their strengths, understand their challenges, and identify practical paths forward.

Dr. Anderson is also the creator of Coming Home with ADHD, a mindfulness program that includes a book, companion workbook, and eight-week class for adults with ADHD. Coming Home brings together her clinical experience and mindfulness teaching to address everyday challenges with attention, stress, emotional overload, and self-criticism. Its guiding approach—Notice • Allow • Return—encourages people to meet their experiences with curiosity and kindness and to practice returning to what matters, one small step at a time.

In addition to assessment, Dr. Anderson teaches mindfulness and self-compassion courses and groups. Her teaching emphasizes accessible practices that fit real lives, including the realities of distraction, busy minds, and imperfect days. She helps participants explore ways to respond more thoughtfully to stress and build a kinder relationship with themselves.

Across her clinical work, writing, and teaching, Dr. Anderson values a warm, collaborative environment where people feel understood, respected, and supported.
